Space Empires V Tech Tree Jun 2026

Your first 20 to 30 turns should focus entirely on securing your borders and compounding your research output.

Ideal for large maps with distant neighbors. Focus heavily on and Resource Generation early on. Upgrade your extractors to Level II and III before building a massive fleet. By delaying military tech briefly, you build an economic engine capable of out-producing rivals later. The Blitzkrieg (Early Aggression)

The beauty of Space Empires V is that there is no "one true build order." The tech tree is a toolkit, not a checklist. Do you want to explode stars with Stellar Manipulation? Do you want to steal the enemy's fleet with Psychic technology? Or do you simply want to rush them with a thousand regenerating Organic Frigates?

Psychic empires specialize in control rather than destruction. While their standard weapons may seem weak, the high-tier and Allegiance Subverter are devastating. The Subverter does not destroy a ship; it temporarily takes control of it, allowing you to turn the enemy’s flagship against their own fleet before ramming it to pieces. However, note that Master Computers on enemy vessels make them immune to these mental attacks.

Technology costs do not scale linearly. Each subsequent level of a specific technology requires significantly more research points than the last. This creates a critical strategic choice: do you rush a single high-tier component or build a broad, cost-effective mid-tier military? Prerequisites and Hiding Techs
