Please Wait [extra Quality] — Fanuc Starting System Software
Power cycle again. If the control boots, one of those devices was causing a boot conflict. Re-introduce them one by one to find the culprit.
If you try to access the Boot System menu and the screen still hangs on "Starting System Software Please Wait," the hardware is likely suffering from a critical failure. At this point, contact a certified FANUC repair specialist to diagnose the physical boards. To help narrow this down, let me know:
| Scenario | Recovery Method | |----------|----------------| | Dead battery, lost parameters | Reload from paper tape or PC backup using IPL → SRAM download. | | Corrupted ladder (PMC) | Reload PMC from memory card via boot loader (Function 1: Load from memory card). | | Corrupted system software | Reload entire FANUC system software using or memory card (requires FANUC factory tools). | | Hardware failure | Replace main board (A20B series) or send to FANUC repair center. |
The "Starting System Software" file stored on the Flash ROM has become damaged. This can happen due to: fanuc starting system software please wait
Open the electrical cabinet and look at the back of the CNC control unit (usually a FANUC 0i, 16i, 18i, 21i, or 30i series). Inspect the status LEDs on the main board. Status LED Indicators
Sudden power loss during operation, electrical noise, or aging flash memory cells.
FANUC stores system software on a memory module (often called the "FROM" or Flash ROM). If a critical sector becomes corrupted due to a sudden power loss during a previous write operation, the boot loop hangs. This is especially common if the machine was powered off while a parameter write or a macro compilation was in progress. Power cycle again

If you have tried all software options and the system still won't boot, you must look at the hardware.
Remove any USB drives or peripherals connected to the machine. If you try to access the Boot System
If the robot remains stuck on the message even after an (factory reset), the problem is likely a physical hardware failure of the CPU board or FROM module , requiring technician service.
While a dead battery usually triggers a "Battery Low" alarm first, a completely dead battery left unaddressed for weeks will wipe the volatile SRAM memory. Without this configuration data, the system cannot boot.
: Sometimes, the system just needs time to boot up completely. Wait for a few minutes to see if the system progresses past this screen.
